"No Words... They Should've Sent a Poet"

Kissing Suzy Kolber's first post was June 28, 2006. In a way, it's sad that the site has been around for less than a month, and already we face the grim reality that nothing will ever surpass the majestic beauty of this clip.

Remember Bo Jackson? He played for the Royals when they were in the major leagues and stomped ass every week for the Raiders, and according to a Nike commercial I saw he also "knew" soccer, cycling, archery, and like 15 other sports. Then he got hip necrophilia or something and couldn't run over Brian Bosworth if The Boz were sleeping on the sidewalk in a puddle of his own vomit.

Thankfully we have YouTube, which brings us videos like this to remind us of Bo's historic -- and historically lost -- talent. I'm pretty sure this is from that famous Monday Night Football game against the Seahawks in the Kingdome:

Our deepest gratitude to GorillaMask, where we saw this first.

What a hot-dog

1,048 yards with Bo in one game...Still have the notebook, where we wrote down the yardage, pre Super Tecmo stat keeping. That's right...1,048 in one game. Deal with that.

That is a hilarious clip! I remember trying to pull stunts like that on Tecmo Super Bowl, but I didn't do anything remotely close to that clip.

By the by, nice "Contact" quote. Small Moves, Caveman...Small Moves.

Now if only i could find a clip of Tom Chambers unstoppable double clutch dunk from the original nba live my childhood nostalgia would be complete.

I think the left guard moved before the snap.

I played Jordan vs. Bird not too long ago. Jordan was unstobbable, even with the Hick from French Lick.

I think I had the game "10-yard Scrimmage" instead of Techmo Bowl. It was kind of crappy.

An obvious gadget play.

I think I saw Willie Parker do something like that in the Super Bowl.

(Sorry Cavey...)

My thumb hurts from watching that.

brasky, you mean '10-yard fight' right? the one where forward passing wasn't allowed and everyone moved slower than molasses? yeah, tecmo was just a wee bit better....

Oh man, NBA Live '97

I remember creating the Warriors' '96 draft pick Todd Fuller, and for some odd reason the game automatically giving him a super huge afro. Weirdest -- and best -- glitch ever.

emulators allow you to do this from the very PC you're staring at right now!

rocknex, for example.

no thumb-hurt, either. keyboard action!

Man, that brought back memories of our Tecmo leagues in college. Yeah, we had 1000 yard games with Bo but then he always seemed to get hurt by game 5. If I couldn't get the Raiders when picking teams then I tried for the Packers and the unstoppable sack machine Bob Nelson.

After watching that clip, and remembering times when I had Bo Jackson runs of a similiar nature, and then reading the majority of you had the same I can't help but wonder if we're all a large bit responsible for his hip problems.

We worked him too hard boys.

Sorry Bo. Thanks for the ride.

It’s good to see that my college roommates and I weren’t the only ones who taped video games (Madden’s ‘97; it was necessary for dispute settlement). I hadn’t thought about Video Bo since I caught that clip with similarly themed text on the JSB under ‘Small Box Immortality’ last Thursday.

Skeets, you reminded me of Madden 2004.
A.J. Feely has a beautiful 'fro.

The best was Detlef Shrempf back in the old Live 95. You could fade out of bounds and drill 3 after 3 after 3. You would not miss. I think Reggie Miller was that way too.

Frat brother taunted me mercilessly over a rather nasty loss in Tecmo. In the rematch I beat his Raiders with the Browns, 48-45 and held Bo to 6 TDs and 541 yards. (Hanford Dixon = shutdown corner). Greatest sports moment of my life.

Tecmo rocks. My college roomie and I used to let it auto run and come up with the playoff schedule, then take turns picking which team we wanted for a classic "best of 11"..

So we end up tied 5-5 going into the tecmo bowl one weekend. He has the right to choose, and picks the strong niners against the oilers with Moon. To add insult to injury, Moon gets put out on the strecher in the fist quarter. In comes Cody Carlson to my rescue, and Cody went for something like 400 yards and 7 touchdowns in the biggest tecmo upset in history...

We had some free time on our hands....

No offense to the Orientals, but that was a hell of a Jap play...

I haven't seen a guy control a ball like that in weeks.

Never was more evident Bo's brief athletic monopoly, than when Game Boy gave us "Bo Jackson's Hit and Run". And with the cover half Royals/half Raiders (teams in which I know zero fans) we were granted the option of playing either sport; a two-fer; subliminal.

He can expect a call from paul taglibue for showboating.
And i think his socks were higher than the acceptable limit

Nice...I was more of a Tecmo Bowl guy myself. Actually still have my nintendo and still have both Tecmo and Tecmo Super Bowl working. My goal is to try to go through a season without giving up a point. ALmost got it done.
